Lock it or lose it
"Please double-check that you have locked your car" is the message from Inspector Sue Sanderson from Ilkley Neighbourhood Police Team.
There has been a large increase in the number of thefts from vehicles across the Wharfe Valley during the summer months, particularly at night. Many of these vehicles were unlocked.
It is unclear whether the central locking mechanisms are not working, or whether the car owners simply forget to lock their cars. Don't add to the statistics, make sure your vehicle is secure.
