Does anyone know what the building the foreground is?
I am probably way off the mark here, but isn't that on the site of the Mat Shovel? If so, could it be part of the mill, or something to do with storage or processing of malt?

Think it could be where Lesley Hopps has his business (Hopps's barn). If it was it was pulled down to build the houses that are opposite to the entrance to the Malt Shovel. Back Lane used to come off the main road across what is now the village green and go in front of the building.
According to the village archive that IS the original Malt Shovel inn.
