Wharfedaleforums.com is completely free for everyone to use. It is a community resource - it is what you make it, and we hope you will join and contribute. In addition to the forum, it offers local people a free blog, photo gallery, and community calendars. Please do use them.
With that in mind, the 'rules' are simple:
- A forum is a place for open discussion, but please keep it polite. Criticising others views is fine (though expect them to return the favour!). Personal criticism of individuals is not. If in doubt, if you wouldn't say it in front of 100 residents in a neighbourhood forum meeting, please think twice before posting it here. Like email, please remember that comments not intended to offend can easily be taken the wrong way.
- You can post under your real name or be anonymous, it's up to you. The same rules apply.
- Please stick within the law. Defamation is not on, nor is incitement of hatred.
- Please remember this forum is intended to be open to people of all ages and sensibilities. Please don't post content or images others would find offensive.
- Nobody but you is responsble for the contributions you make. You should notify us immediately if you find content you consider to be inappropriate.
- This forum is maintained and modereted by volunteers. Please respect their decisions. As operator of the site I (or those to whom I grant permissions to do so on behalf of all members) have the right to delete or modify any content. In practice, we will try not to do so unless it is really necessary. If you disagree with a moderator's decision, you can post a request for reconsideration in the 'about the forums' forum and moderators and adminstrators will discuss it. However, that decision has to be final.
- These rules are your rules. If you think they are wrong, you can discuss them in the 'about the forums' forum.
