Hi

Moved to Menston last year, and though we're loving it here, we're getting a bit concerned with what seems to be a worrying situation with secondary school placements from the village. There was a piece in the Wharfedale Observer about the fact that kids in Menston aren't guaranteed any places at Guiseley, Otley or Ilkley Grammar, that these schools are getting full, and that we could end up with our kids being sent to Shipley or Thackley, which seems ridiculous. Guiseley school is just over a mile from my house. My kids would be able to walk there.

Can anyone provide any more info on this?? Any idea what's likely to happen?

Thanks

Look in the Burley forum under Burley Schools, there may be a bit of info that you could use there.

Thanks, I did read that thread, which prompted my own post, but it's mostly about primary schools and as I understand it, the situations in Burley and Menston are very different anyway.
