I wonder, is there anyone out there who can remember the Maypole in the Rec?

What became of it and is there any chance a new one could be erected on the village green?

Also when was there last a Burley Pudding under the Pudding Tree?

He's locked in my cellar with my team of monkeys and their typewriters. As soon as they turn out my complete works of Shakespeare I'll think about letting him go.
Once we had eaten all the animals and bartered all our jewels we started to worry.....

I vaguely recall the umbrella shaped swing/roundabout with the chains to swing on & the shelter with the bench seat nearby on the lefthand side of the rec & the very smelly urinal on the right corner & the fountain on the right which I believe is still there & the maypole just in front of it, & perhaps the fountain could be placed on the green even if unfunctual.

I remember the tall white pole in front of the drinking fountain but always thought it was a flagpole ?
No, let's leave memorial fountain where it is but maybe get it working again ?
