Green Bag Collections

Wrexham Road and Southfield Road were a disgrace yesterday afternoon after the bags had been collected, there were clippings and rotting vegetation scattered everywhere.
I saw several residents out with the sweeping brushes trying to make the place look better.

They were the same when they collected our green waste they even left all the green bags at the side the road whereas they normally throw them over the garden fence.
Once ealier this year we had to go out on collection day & when we returned there was no bags to be seen because of the winds & we never got them back even though our address was written on them.

What about someone organising a huge Burley compost bin?

They are so different from our weekly bin men who are an absolute pleasure to deal with.

I left it just inside the garden right next to the fence where they could see it - I have left it here before with no problem, but this time they didn't touch it!!
I think there 'policy' is, that it should be left on the roadside - but what if like me you are going to be away for the week?? Case of tough luck you will have to try and get 2 months worth of gardening into the 2 bags but without making them too full or heavy to lift??
I had left it this side of the fence as I was away all week so didn't want to leave in on the footpath in the way and so that (hopefully) the collectors would throw the bags back over the fence so they wouldn't be blown away..
But they are still there waiting to be collected so looks like I am going to have to take them to the local tip myself!!

What if I didn't have transport to do this?? What if I was elderly or physically unable to pick the bags up and take them away? What then??
Besides that, I have paid for this service but haven't received it, do I get a refund?
Some of us have better things to do than to haul 2 heavy bags into the back of the car then drive to the tip, empty the bags out then drive back fill up bags again with the rest of the garden waste, then drive back to the tip to empty rest of garden refuge again... I could be out and about on my bike!

I think I may just leave it and let it rot, thus making the neighbours avoid eye contact and not want to talk to me.. This will give me the excuse to go tearing round the streets on my bike and make them hate me even more!
