Tried to look at the Forum today but could not until signed in. Is this an error or a new rule. Shame if the latter as it will prevent people having a look then deciding to join in.

Have patience, modifications are underway & unfortunatly weekends are often only the time our technitions are able to carry out this function owing to other comittments.

Unable to view "Blunt Pencil's" photo in topic "Where's Our Stones" unless signed in. Is this an issue of the forum or the way BP attached the file?
It could mean that any "Guests" who come to the forum, won't be able to see it or any file/image attached in this way.

I'm having problems seeing the latest posts. I can post, but I'm unable to see if & when someone responds.
Last night Stanley _Knife posted that they were the 316th voter - I posted a correction. But I was unable to see their next post until 12 hours later. I knew they'd posted because of the panel "Today's Top Posters" - their number changed from 1 to 2.
I thought the problem might be my machine - but I've emptied the cache, I've tried viewing the forum in different browsers - but what ever I've done hasn't corrected the problem.
Is there an issue with the forum itself not refreshing properly?

No!, the main reason was as stanley_knife is a new poster & had not yet as a Newbie had his post reviewed, this has now been done & you should not have any more trouble.
