I'm referring to the building to the left of the Malt Shovel pub on main street.

I notice they are adding an ever increasing collection of plant pots and the like to the front of their property, which has made the footpath impassable.

They have now added some big stone blocks with spiked railings on them. The spikes are no more than 3 feet above the level of the road, and a tripping child could easilly be seriously hurt by these.

Is there not some sort of law to stop people blocking public rights of way?

The path was there long before the current homeowners were. If they did not want people walking past their front window, they should have bought a house further from the raodside.

It does infuriate me how people move into somewhere and then seem to think it is their right to impose their preferences onto all the other people who want to use the village.

It looks rediculous.

Can anyone suggest who I might be best contacting about this, as Matt Palmer seems to have no interest in it.

Every year BMDC issue a booklet to all households with a list of telephone numbers, covering all asspects of council services, I cannot find anything or a telephone number dealing with your specific complaint but this number is the nearest I could find to what you want, if it is the responsibility of another department they would transfer you to the correct one.

Maybe you should try the councillor for Menston rather than saying the Burley councillor is not interested?!

Hi all,

Sorry, I was away in August - I don't tend to advertise my holiday dates on the forum (my home insurance company would probably have something to say if I did!).

It's not lack of interest though, and I'll speak with my ward colleagues about it, and get in touch.

Matt
