The "Save Our......" Topic in the Burley forum has been locked for over a month now.  When is it likely to become unlocked?

I'd like to add a post to it, rather than incur the wrath of "Spyglass" (Keep It Together) by starting a new thread on a similar subject!

Could whoever locks a topic put a final post on the thread to say why it is locked and if appropriate (i.e. if it is a duplication which might incur my wrath!) referring would be posters to the relevant alternative thread?

In the hope of rescuing my ignorance a bit what is the difference between a moderator and an administrator and who has the right and ability to do what

I agree – locked topics should carry an explanation as to why they have been locked and I also believe that the reasons for locking the thread should be open to challenge.

Duplicate threads should be merged, not locked where ever possible, and this has recently been done.

Moderators are a sub set of the Admins, which means they can merge, lock, remove posts etc’, and in addition to this, Admins can add new forums and tasks of that nature, as well as affect the fundamental operation of the forum software. On a day to day basis, the Admins and Mods carry out the same task.

Generally speaking nothing much happens to cause them to have to act which is a good job because I have four of them locked in my attic until they learn their place in the pecking order.

Can you explain why the "Save Our...." topic has been locked - who did it & why?  Can it be unlocked?
