Many of us have family coats of Arms. Many villages and towns have Crests.

Does anyone know if Burley-In-Wharfedale has a crest, official logo, coat of arms. I think it would be great if we saw it prominently in the village, in the leaflets, etc.

I used the internet (at only 5MB - VOTE YES to iBurley) to see if i could find anything - Nowt for Burley, but i got Otley:

I have lived in Burley all my life which seems to be an eternity but cannot honestly say that I have ever heard of a Burley coat of arms.

Burley was a fiefdom of Otley wasn't it? and therefore wouldn't qualify imho.

Various 'styles' around the village.....sacks of grain and shovel at the Malt Shovel, Interwoven letters on lintels here and there, Fison and Forstor were baronets weren't they? They would perhaps have a coat of arms.

Just for fun what would you have on it? Tom Summner rampant over pizza, kebab and pot noodle?

Burley had a Knights Templar Hall at Scalebor.
There is the river crossing - the ford - not
the stones. You might include a Parrot and Grouse.

The Parish Council was looking at a logo - though it wasn't a top priorty and I'm not sure if it's being pursued at the moment.

Why not persue the Eco Friendly side of Burley?
The Hydro powered, pedal powered, voiciferous, rambling,
