Last Thursday (11/11/2010) I awoke to an absence of running water. I was told there had been a leak on Main street in the night, and that it had been fixed, but they were using a tanker to pump in water until the restored mains had been cleaned up.

Just a few queries

1. Why is all the bottled water still by the old Otley carpet mill. I noticed a pykey helping himself this evening
2. Are the roadworks on Main street anything to do with it
3. Why is it that roadworks always involve digging a hole then leaving it
4. Has the work finished, or are they coming back to finish it off

We had a letter through from Yorkshire Water on Friday morning warning us not to drink the tap water until they had run tests on it. The letter was addressed to Occupants of Clarence Place and Main Street. The bottled water was supplied as a substitute for drinking the tap water. We had another letter through on Sunday evening saying the water was now safe to drink.

I hope Yorks water realise the bottled stuff has a short shelf life compaired to natural water from the ground.
