Twas a reference to Animal Farm, a dreadful book what I learned at school. I am not terrible literate but try to impress where I can.
As a true revolutionary I would go with what everyone else seems to think. I mean what has BMDC ever done for us...?
Well there's the sanitation?
OK but apart from the sanitation..?
Am I following one of those rules of discussion forums where eventually someone either compares the situation with Nazi Germany orquotes Monty Python.
Unlike the stereotypical Yorkshireman, I like change but please don't try to pretend that it will be infinitely better and we will all be eating fresh green grass. There are always a few Trolls under the bridge. (I learned that book before school). Sometimes we need change to shift the empire builders from their orifices (sorry that should read offices). Under TUPE they would probably have to be offered the positions in WHarfedale Rural Commune and the pigs would still be more equal.
Oh what the heck lets just stay the same, it's too much bother and no-one really cares that much.
Should Burley Leave Bradford Mdc

Oh no you don't!
If you really are a True Born Yorkshire Lad/Lass you
wouldn't throw the towel in like that.
Change is as good as a rest I agree.
And a rest from those who think the peasants don't know
one end of a pigsty from another. But we do don't we?
Perhaps you would join me as a new member of the AORP.

I see Ilkley Grammar School are going for Academy status - which takes them out of Bradford MDC control. Obviously they have taken the sensible line that the less one has to do with this ailing city the better. Good luck to them. I hope they are able to achieve Academy status.
I was at the station the other day and was there for both the Leeds and Bradford trains late morning. 3 people got on the Bradford train and somewhere between 20 and 30 caught the Leeds train. No clearer message that the people of Burley have no affinity with Bradford and of course no reason to go anyway. Its shut!
What are the Council doing? All the resources go into Leeds - such as the arena. Why are the Bradford council not pitching in to get resources for Bradford or if they are, how come they are so pathetic at the task. They need to be attracting businesses. Surely they have land and/or buildings they could let out at peppercorn rents for a few years and give business rate easements to encourage new business. These businesses are not here or contributing now so what ratee/rent Bradford has never anyway had it wont miss but it would provide jobs. Jobs mean wages and wages mean spending. Some shops might even come. But no lets have a lake instead!
The reality is the brick wall hurts my head so lets get out and either be an independant authority or join Leeds/North Yorks/Craven - I dont care which. Anything but Bradford.

I see from the paper that Hopkins is pushing for Ilkley and the rest of his constituency to leave Bradford. If this hapopens where does that leave Burley (and Menston)? As cash cows for the wasteland which is Bradford thats where. The opportunity for some sort of Wharfedale authority will have been lost.

So where is your MP in all this?
It's not the first time this proposal has been put forward.
Last time Burley was part of IPC.
