There is also quite a useful link to a speed tester on the village web site. You can check what speed you are currently experiencing both for upload and download.
It is at http://www.burley-in...rley/speed.html
It should give you something like this . . . .

Latest news from the Burley village website:
"With just one more street cabinet to be installed (at Far Mead Croft), the announcement of the very first cabinet to be commissioned and to "go live" is also imminent.
As soon as the location of that cabinet is advised, the iBurley pages will be updated. It is presumed that BT Retail will then start taking registrations for the new Infinity Superfast Broadband service".

Two nights ago at about 7pm there was a knock on our door to which my wife responded, on opening the door she was greeted by two rather well built coloured gentlemen with the words in rather a gutteral tone "Do you use the telephone or broadband" but as no identity was proffered my wife in my opinion very wisely replied "No" & closed the door.
Later on when I had seen on the forum a remark that all customers would be contacted re-broadband reception I wonder if there was any connection between that & the gentlemen which knocked on our door.
