When our family moved into Burley just over fifty years ago there were shops a plenty in the village. All this talk of having to walk a few more yards to shop is a none starter as far as I'm concerened. Ok I don't live in the village now but if I did local shops would be the first port of call before elsewhere. For those new to the area it must be quite staggering to realise just how many shops, banks etc are no longer in the village.

So who, I wonder, is the 'household name convenience store'?
