1911 Census On Burley Website

The 1911 census for Burley, listed by address, is now on the Burley websitehttp://www.burley-in-wharfedale.org/ look under the History section.
An amazing piece of work by Bill Howson and the Burley Local History Group.
Even if your house wasn't built then, it's worth a look just to see the occupations and origins of the people living in Burley at the time.
My favourites so far are the Grimaldi family of Organ Grinders, living in Back Lane, and all born in Italy!

Amazing!, found my grandparents & family details & where they started married life & raised their children before moving into Sun Lane where I was born.

can't recommend this highly enough - an absolutely fascinating glimpse into a world gone by
have already spent several hours studying the detail

The site is great - found my grandfather grandmother uncle and father living in Main Street !!!!
