can anyone tell me what the weird building with the vaulted brick arches towards the top of Moor Lane is? It appears to have been dug out from underground and unless I'm mistaken there used to be a Yorkshire Water sign there - some kind of underground storage facility perhaps? - and what is happening to it now?
thanks

It's the old reservoir that is being converted into a 3 bedroom house, very Grand Designs!

I hope they don't have the problems some friends of mine had/have with their former waterboard conversion. I wish them all the luck with the conversion.

We live in crazy times.
These people have the challenge of converting a resovoir bunker into a home.
Demolition and rebuilding a home
would result in a better home
but our planning laws
probably prevented common sense
forcing compromise
they get to live in what already existed.
Meanwhile, further down the hill
400 homes
massive impact
are thrust upon a village
without the infrastructure.
Building a six bedroom town house
on this site would have been a blip.
But planners must have their fun,
at our expense
for it is us that pay their wages.
