Oh, and just to set the record straight, I submitted a direct complaint to Matt about content previously posted on this site, so it would be unfair to assume that Matt makes decisions about what to include and what to exclude purely off his own bat.

I know first-hand how difficult it is to be even-handed when running a forum.

I used to run one which once had a minor invasion of extreme right-wing types. I asked them politely to take it elsewhere, but got the inevitable accusation of censorship and curtailment of free speech. I didn't suggest they stopped spouting those opinions, just asked them to take it elsewhere.

I guess it must be especially difficult for someone who is actually a politician to maintain objectivity!

BTW - I just did a search for the "alternative" forum. Seems to have 2 members and 4 topics with no replies on any of them!

Might not be the same one. I searched for "trueburley forum" and came up with this: http://61fd82c8ceb54...la.tal.ki/news/

Not sure what you've got there - but try this: http://trueburley.#####.com/ .......... though it does seem to have died.

This forum software is killing the link - where the hash tags are type - w e e b l y

trueburley is definitely still there but it doesn't look as though anyone has posted for a while. I suppose if everyone prefers this forum and nobody uses trueburley, eventually it will become an ex forum!

There's no reason why we can't both exist! That's the wonderful thing about the internet - you can be a member of as many places as you like and contribute as appropriate.

The elephants have awoken - with some interesting observations about the library.

I agree - for those of you who want to see for yourselves here's the link:
http://trueburley.w e e b l y.com/forum.html#/20111231/burley-library-1141554/page2/
To make the link work take the spaces out between the letters "w e e b l y"

Thanks for the link. Had a quick dig around there.

Fair enough if it serves the purposes of those involved, but the whole premise and raison d'etre seems to be based on bitterness and very much feels like someone taking his/her bat and ball home.

I'd personally rather be involved in projects with a little more positivity.

:)

No thank you. It fouled my laptop up last time I tried to open that site. Once bitten etc.
I'm sure the plans will appear here, eventually.

Looks like the elephant is preparing to pack its trunk!
